Educational Trust

Peter Newman Prize 1The Rotary Club of Frankston North Educational Trust has been established for any one or more of the following purposes:

  1. In awarding scholarships, exhibitions, bursaries or allowances to Beneficiaries at any school or other recognised educational establishment;
  2. In providing financial assistance, clothing, outfits, tools, instruments or books to such Beneficiaries;
  3. In otherwise furthering the educational or practical experience of such Beneficiaries.

As part of the Educational Trust, annual prizes have been created in the name of esteemed Rotary member, Past District Governor Peter Newman. It is for year 6 students that are intending to attend Monterey Secondary College and identifies the following characteristics for the successful awardee:

         Commitment to self-improvement;
         Integrity;
         Courage;
         Disciplined behaviour;Peter Newman Prize 2
         Commitment to tasks; and
         Sense of community.

 

The 2018 prize of $500 was shared by two students, Brydon Addison from Aldercourt Primary School and Marima Timothy from Mahogany Rise Primary School. Prior to the end of the school year Frankston North Rotary’s President Elect David Cahill and President Ian McConnel presented the prizes and certificates.
